Sometimes we go out to the backyard and light a bonfire, and some nights I prepare a special treat like these Unicorn Ice Cream Floats. I’ve started to make an effort to make our reading nights more special. We read independently, and together, and sometimes Ella is inspired to do a craft or engage in some imaginative play inspired by what we’ve read. I’m loving our nights of family reading time. We recently had a three week “screen break” which was awesome and helped us reset some bad habits that had started to form over the summer ( like putting on Netflix so I could enjoy my coffee without a million questions…) – and it gave us the perfect opportunity to add more reading back into our routine. I know without a doubt that anything unicorn-themed will go over like gangbusters, and it’s a simple way to add a bit of magic into our days.
